European Forum Alpach
Official web-site of the Forum: www.alpbach.org
European Forum Alpbach (red. EFA) is one of the most significant events in the social and scientific life of Europe. It takes place since 1945 in the Austrian village Alpbach, which is situated in Alp mountains in the federal land Tirol. More than 3000 people participate every year in the forum, among them mayors of European cities, ministers of countries, heads of corporations and famous scientists.
The content of the forum is closely related with problems of the European integration process. The programme of the forum includes three main events:
- Seminar week
- Summer school
The forum takes place in the second half of Augsust. The main working language is English. Some local events are held in German.
Students and recent graduates have an opportunity to get a scholarship, which covers the seminar week, all symposia (600 Euro) and accomodation (22 Euro per day). For non-english and non-german native speakers it is necessary to have a language sertificate (English or German) in order to apply for a scholarship. Study progress as well as extra-curricular activity are taken in account in the selection process.
